SILCA Ultimate Chain Stripper is a highly concentrated, biodegradable chain degreaser designed specifically for waxed drivetrain preparation. It removes greases and oils while also priming the metal surface to improve wax adhesion, helping SILCA Secret Chain Blend or Super Secret Chain Lube last longer. It can be used on new or used chains, either off the bike by submerging and agitating the chain, or on the bike by applying directly to each roller.

Option 1: Preparing a New Chain for Hot-Melt Waxing
Use this method before waxing a new factory-greased chain with SILCA Secret Blend Hot Melt Wax.
1. Submerge the chain in SILCA Chain Stripper and agitate for 30 seconds.
2. Let the chain soak for 5–10 minutes.
3. Agitate again for 30 seconds.
4. Remove the chain and rinse thoroughly with water.
5. Place the wet chain directly into the hot wax.
The remaining water will boil off during the waxing process, leaving the chain fully waxed and providing up to 30% longer wax life compared to traditional cleaning methods.
Option 2: Preparing a Chain for Drip Waxing (On the Bike)
Use this method before applying SILCA Super Secret Chain Lube without removing the chain.
1. While backpedalling, apply 1 drop of SILCA Chain Stripper to each chain roller.
2. Allow the stripper to soak for 5 minutes.
3. Backpedal for 10 crank revolutions to agitate the cleaner.
4. Reapply 1 drop per roller and let it soak for another 5 minutes.
5. Rinse the chain with clean water while backpedalling for at least 10 revolutions.
6. Dry the chain and apply SILCA Super Secret according to the lube instructions.
